Meet our kinesiologist!

Paula Urquidi | BCAK registered Kinesiologist

From a young age Paula was a competitive gymnast and continued to compete as a student-athlete throughout her university career in South Carolina. Through her experiences as an athlete she gained an understanding of the value of professional help in the rehabilitation field and is passionate about using her knowledge to support clients through their journeys.

  • Public environments can be overwhelming. Our clinic is a safe space where you can feel comfortable, respected and empowered to move your body in exercise or activity. We want to support you as you incorporate movement back into your everyday life.

  • We are a collaborative clinic. We believe that healing sometimes requires a plan that involves more than just one discipline. Our team of clinicians participate in weekly team meetings to discuss shared clients and treatment plans, so that you can receive a well-rounded approach to care.

  • Many in the fitness industry rely on unhealthy strategies like shame to motivate you - but we take a different approach. Movement is for everybody; it’s just about figuring out what activity you were made to do.

Many of our clients have experienced alternate versions of care. Ones where they felt rushed, unheard, or disengaged. This led to feeling either disconnected from the plan set in motion, overwhelmed by their clinician’s expectations or worse; feeling increased shame around engaging in their body or exercise. We believe this is a travesty and should never happen. You deserve to be heard by a clinician, who’s job it is to attune to your needs and guide the process of your healing.
